Unable to download file. Could not open request on Cisco CAD


Problem
 pop-up error is received: 
Unable to download file. Could not open request. 
You receive this pop-up  when launching CAD. To get rid of this error Press OK and the error goes away, & CAD will load.
However the this indicates that automatic updates which CAD clients check when it is loaded is  not functioning.

Solution

There are two ways of fixing this issue
  • One way is to disable proxy on agent machine . check under Internet options
  • Second way is to disable automatic updates on CAD server .


 Log on as local administrator on CAD server . Run the postinstall.exe (C:\Program Files\Cisco\Desktop\bin)

Go to the Services configuration and there you will find “would you like CAD automatic updates enabled ?” 
click on “NO”



Restart your machine , to launching CAD and enjoy
